We’re celebrating the royal wedding in style this 19th May
While we might not have an extra Bank Holiday like when Wills and Kate tied the knot, at least good old Harry and his beautiful bride-to-be, Ms Meghan Markle, have chosen to get hitched on a Saturday.
So as the rest of the world eagerly awaits to see everyone’s favourite prince say ‘I do’ to his American beauty in perhaps one of the greatest love stories ever told (we do love a happy ending here at Gift Giving All Wrapped Up!), we’re literally counting down the days to Saturday 19th May when we’ll be tuned into our TVs to watch what will arguably be the wedding of the year.
Do you have any plans for that day? Will you be holed up on your sofa with a box of tissues shedding happy tears of joy as the bride walks down the aisle? Perhaps you’re planning a street party (let’s hope the weather is as lovely as it was across the UK during the May Day Bank Holiday) to celebrate the royal nuptials? Or even, you might be attending another wedding that day, celebrating the love and life-long commitment of another happy couple?
Whatever your plans are for Saturday 19th May, in our royal wedding gift guide, we’ve got the perfect presents for the new Mr & Mrs as well as everything you’ll need to raise a glass and toast to the newlyweds’ future…
For the Happy Couple:
Take a look at the Promise figurine from Willow Tree. Featuring a man and a woman sharing a warm and gentle embrace, the woman’s head rests gently on the man’s chest as if listening to his heart beat, while he wraps his arms lovingly around her, taking her hand in his. It’s a quiet yet powerful gesture of a promise; a promise of eternal love from this day forward.
Then what about this from Willow Tree too? As a way of showing the bride and groom your gratitude for allowing you to share their special day with them (or even a lovely gift for the happy couple to give to their bridesmaids), the Thank You figurine from Willow Tree is the perfect way to give meaning to this often over-used phrase. The female figurine is leaning forwards in an offer of gratitude and hospitality, while presenting the recipient with a beautiful bouquet of pretty pink peonies. This item also includes a gift tag which reads ‘So appreciative of all that you do’, helping to let the special someone know just how thankful you are.
These two figurines really are a thing of beauty and are bound to be adored by brides and grooms. Like all Willow Tree figurines, artist Susan Lordi hand-carves the original figure from her studio in Kansas City, Missouri. The pieces are then cast from her original carvings, with the faceless figurines communicating their expression through gesture only. A simple tilt of the head or placement of hand allows the sculptures to speak in quiet ways. Any item from the Willow Tree collection makes a thoughtful and timeless gift, which can be displayed proudly in the marital home, while perfectly complementing existing décor through the items’ use of muted natural tones.
And speaking of proudly displaying wedding gifts around the marital home, the new Mr & Mrs are bound to love this piece called Love Is In The Air by artist Sharon Nowlan.
This beautiful piece is made from different shaped pebbles depicting a bride and groom stealing a moment of quiet together on their wedding day. Dressed in traditional wedding attire, the happy couple embrace, looking into the distance as they embark on their exciting journey as husband and wife together. Simple, yet stunning, the scene is captured by a frame measuring 8x15 inches.
Each piece in the Sharon Nowlan Collection is ready to be hung on a wall or to stand around the home. The frames are made from textured wood with an easel back, a gallery quality matte board providing shadowing effect that adds to dimension to the art, and each piece bears the artist’s signature too. A truly different but totally thoughtful gift that will be treasured for many years to come.
For Your Street Party:
Perhaps you’re still waiting for your invite to the royal wedding to land on the doormat and at the moment your diary is totally free on Saturday 19th May. Don’t worry – ours is too…
So, if it’s not looking likely that you’ll be at Windsor Castle on ‘The Big Day’, why not stay at home and celebrate Price Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials with a smashing street party instead? After all, do you need a better excuse to pop the cork of something fizzy and raise a glass to the happy couple?
Don’t fancy sharing a pair of glasses with your party-goers? You need an extra big glass of your own then! Take a look at the Superbling Princess Extra Large Wine Glass from Lolita…
While Ms Markle may have bagged herself the most eligible bachelor in town, who says you can’t be a princess too? Adorned with silver tiaras and covered in so many sparkles, you’ll be the toast of your own celebratory street party sipping your drink from this glass in your hand. And anyway, who said you needed a prince to be a princess? Not us!
